Meet Renee Hay

I love the smell of leather, barns and horses…and puppies, of course. I am mom to three sassy but beautiful Cavachons Emma, Viola and The Alva. I’m crafty when I need to be and I like to cook with a glass of wine in my hand. The use of “Y’all” and “What time do you want to get left?” comes naturally to me.

My wedding ring is inscribed with “I Believe in You” – it comes from a story about me, a cow named Tamara and a man I’ve been married to for 36 years. It taught me that love will provide strength in tough times and perseverance will be rewarded. Also, there’s no crying in showing cows. It became my mantra throughout my years as a pharmacist, HR professional and personal coach.

I’ve always wanted to be around horses. As a child, a cowgirl hat and fringed outfit were as close as I would get other than an occasional ride on my great-grandmothers mule. My horse journey actually didn’t take off until the summer I turned 30. Then, on a hot August day in Atlanta, I watched a local trainer ride a white Lipizzaner down centerline. Her musical freestyle changed my life. I became a dressage junkie.

I can’t wait to share stories about my travels across Europe from Friesland to Warendorf to Preston...buying horses, attending the iconic Aachen horse show, sleeping in a 300 year old sport pony breeding farm and a night raid in Amsterdam.

I'm always seeking ways to strengthen my knowledge and have completed the USDF L Program and earned my USDF Silver Medal. My horse “Del” is a 10 y.o. 16.3 hand KWPN with four white socks, a blaze and freckles! We train with Anna Marek, a 2020 Nations Cup Gold Medalist.

I can’t wait to see where Belle’s Journey takes us and to hear your stories and recipes for success through The Home and Stable.
